Fight Club opening scene.

Blade 11

• Black screen with red font “NEW LINE CINEMA presents…”
• A voiceover used (Deep voice – main character introducing himself)
• A panning shot
• Action music soundtrack; upbeat action music used
• A dark beginning where everything is unclear to understand. Different parts of different scenes being showed
• In-camera mirror effect on the footage
• The title of the movie “Blade 11” is written in blades (silver) with a faint red shadow on a black screen, right at the end of the opening sequence.
• Camera panning all the way through the opening scene.

Fight Club

• Universal logo – neon light/font
• Actors are introduced – credits
• Upbeat soundtrack used.
• Screen moving through with the music
• Title “Fight club” in blocks, colour white.
• Side view close up shot - of the gun in the guys mouth
• A voiceover used
• Extreme close up shot on the guys face.
• A medium shot used when the guy answers the question
• The electricity is like photo electrical stimuli that is running through his brain (impulses)

The opening sequence of all three openings of the films “Fight Club”, “Blade 11”, and “Kung fu Panda” is very different to each other. The soundtrack used is very mellow in Kung fu Panda and there are different camera shots such as birds eye view and worms eye shots used in the opening. Also different settings are established almost immediately in the opening scene of the film Kung fu Panda. All three openings in the different films use a voiceover in their opening scenes. The title of the film is shown at the beginning in the films Fight Club and in Kung fu panda whereas the title of the film in Blade 11 is written right at the end of the opening scene. All three of the films openings are established to be action movies where there is fighting involved.

Kung fu Panda

• An animation movie
• Many long shots used to show the different settings
• Universal logo (Dreamworks)
• Camera pans down with the title, to the scene of the panda
• Sunset – with Kung fu panda written in an orange font colour
• Voiceover used
• Soundtrack – a mellow calm music
• When he starts walking on the bridge, it cuts to a Close-up shot of the character (panda)
• A shot reverse shot – conversation between two characters
• Worms eye shot – looking up at the panda
• A birds eye view shot – when Po falls to the ground
